One decade later
I don’t remember when I finally adjusted to 1990 not being ten years ago. I certainly have noticed that breakfast seem to come around a lot more frequently. As 2027 looms into my planning, I realised that January 7th, 2027 will be one decade since I started taking photos of Croydon.
A few changes
A lot has happened since the last article I wrote in 2018. On a personal front, I’ve moved away and back to Croydon twice in that time, making sure that I still took opportunities to grab a camera and go for a stroll.
We’ve also lived through a rather tremulous period of what would happen to Croydon. Brexit and the ongoing lack of investment in Britain’s high streets killed off the idea of having a new Westfield shopping centre. Maybe even now looking back, that will save Croydon. The new plans include park squares and housing, which is a better proposition for community rather than a bigger Zara.
Before and after
With about 1,300 photos over ten years of photos catalogued, it’s quite fun to find some before and after comparisons – or work-in-progresses where we don’t have the final ‘after’.
